In just 3 minutes you can help us to get a snapshot of our region's business confidence on a quarterly basis. All participants will be provided with a free report outlining the findings of the survey. This will act as a health check for your business and can be used as a benchmark against other Wimmera businesses.
Your participation will provide business leaders in the community with a valuable economic tool that will help us:
- better understand local issues
- assist find funding for various business support programs
- allow us to track changes in perceptions
- better monitor trends in the region
- allow us to better anticipate future business performance and needs
- give us a better understanding of business conditions in our own region, and not having to rely on the media
- and/or national survey results.
A few quick points regarding the survey:
- Participation can be anonymous if so desired.
- Short and quick - multiple-choice style questions!
- Will be conducted quarterly.
- Focusing on business confidence (not business data/statistics) with the intention to compare results within and across industry types, and track our own results over time.
- The data collected will be open and transparent. You can also subscribe to receive the results on the day they are released.
- Privacy is an important issue and privacy of participants will be respected at all times.

BUSINESS SENTIMENT QUARTERLY SURVEY
On behalf of Business Horsham, we are pleased to announce an exciting development which the Business Horsham Executive Committee fully support and encourage.
Commencing end of June 2009, Business Horsham in conjunction with Watts Price Accountants, CPA Accountants of Horsham, will survey all Business Horsham members to obtain valuable business sector sentiment on a range of key attitudes held by business owners/managers.
This information will be made available to all participating members, HRCC and the Press.
At this stage, limited current business indicators for Horsham and broader Wimmera business sector exists. (Horsham Plaza monitors daily foot traffic figures)
The proposal has been put to Business Horsham executives by Brian Watts. Brian is a partner at Watts Price Accountants, CPA Accountants of Horsham.
Watts Price Accountants have offered to conduct this quarterly survey as a free of charge service to Business Horsham and the wider business community.
Watts Price Accountants has considerable experience in this area having prepared a Wimmera Farm Profitability Benchmark Survey since 1990 for the Wimmera farming sector.
The questionnaire has been trialled by the Business Horsham executives. A sub-committee of Business Horsham has had input into the compilation of questions. The survey is internet based and is expected to take approximately two minutes of your time each quarter.
I strongly urge all Business Horsham member firms to get behind this exciting development which all members will receive a quarterly email with the survey questions.
I strongly encourage all members to complete this very brief survey, become involved; your immediate response would be desirable so that results can be made available promptly.
Only Business Horsham members’ firms who participate will receive a free quarterly report.
